Llama Association
Our purpose is to engage in activities relating to the education of the public in the many uses of llamas; to further educate members in the care, training and welfare of llamas; and to broaden the market base for llamas by promoting and
encouraging the sale of llamas as pets, packers, livestock guardians, breeding
stock, show animals and as alternate source of wool.
We start off the year with our annual membership meeting in March. Our no groom Husker Hobo Show and dinner/auction is in April, and you won’t want to miss this one!
Check out the calendar of events for other shows, youth activities and llama treks in between. The Nebraska State Fair Llama Show wraps up the year in the fall. Fiber events are a part of our shows. Look us over, come to our events and join as a member!

A big thanks to everyone who has sent their entries in for the Nebraska State Fair. We have met the same animal numbers as last year! Catherine and Tami really want to report at our next superintendent's meeting that we too have surpassed last year's numbers. The draft horses have already doubled their numbers from last year. Although doubling would be a challenge, let's shoot for at least increasing by half.
We can extend the deadline until Monday August 9th IF YOU email Catherine and have her edit your entry form. (or start a new form if you're not already entered). Then you will just send a check for the extra class to the NSF office to complete your additional registration. We have a lot of room left in Halter classes so consider adding another animal please!
REMEMBER - it is much cheaper to get in the state fair with an exhibitor ticket - please order those through us for $3.25 apiece as well whether you're entering an animal or just coming to the fair to help!
You should have all received a mach form receipt verifying you're entered - even if you mailed regular post. Please let us know if you have not received that receipt.
Think about all your display possibilities -- fiber wise, health/nutrition, interesting facts, why you have llamas, your favorite picture, etc. to fill our space! We'll send another report and perhaps even pictures after our official building tour.
